Double and Triple Langmuir Probes Mea- Surements in Inductively Coupled Nitrogen Plasma
نویسندگان
چکیده
The double and triple Langmuir probe diagnostic systems with their necessary driving circuits are developed successfully for the characterization of laboratory built low pressure inductively coupled nitrogen plasma, generated by 13.56 MHz radio frequency (RF) power supply along with an automatic impedance matching network. Using the DC properties of these two probes, the discharge plasma parameters like ion saturation current (Iio), electron temperature (kTe) and electron number density (ne) are measured at the input RF power ranging from 250 to 400 W and filling gas pressures ranging from 0.3 to 0.6 mbar. An increasing trend is observed in kTe and ne with the increase of input RF power at a fixed filling gas pressure of 0.3mbar, while a decreasing trend is observed in kTe and ne with the increase of filling gas pressure at a fixed input RF power of 250W. متن کاملAn Inductively Coupled Plasma Source for the Gaseous Electronics Conference RF Reference Cell
In order to extend the operating range of the GEC RF Reference Cell, we developed an inductively coupled plasma source that replaced the standard parallel-plate upper-electrode assembly. Voltage and current probes, Langmuir probes, and an 80 GHz interferometer provided information on plasmas formed in argon, chlorine, and nitrogen at pressures from 0.1 Pa to 3 Pa. For powers deposited in the pl...
متن کاملDevelopment of Simple Designs of Multitip Probe Diagnostic Systems for RF Plasma Characterization
Multitip probes are very useful diagnostics for analyzing and controlling the physical phenomena occurring in low temperature discharge plasmas. However, DC biased probes often fail to perform well in processing plasmas. The objective of the work was to deduce simple designs of DC biased multitip probes for parametric study of radio frequency plasmas. For this purpose, symmetric double probe, a...
متن کاملBulk electron temperature measurements using Asymmetric Triple Langmuir probes
Langmuir probes are often used to obtain measurements of temperature and density in plasma. Many believe that the standard triple probe does not give a correct measurement of temperature since it samples only the fastest electrons, and that another type of probe needs to be designed that would sample more dominant, bulk, electrons in the plasma. My project this summer has been to make an asymme...
متن کاملDetermination of 137Ba Isotope Abundances in Water Samples by Inductively Coupled Plasma-optical Emission Spectrometry Combined with Least-squares Support Vector Machine Regression
A simple and rapid method for the determination of 137Ba isotope abundances in water samples by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) coupled with least-squares support vector machine regression (LS-SVM) is reported. By evaluation of emission lines of barium, it was found that the emission line at 493.408 nm provides the best results for the determination...
